All Harbour appliances are designed to be high quality and reliable ensuring that they can last in even the busiest of homes. Below you can find solutions to some common problems you may have with your appliance, as well as some maintenance tips and tricks!

Refrigeration

Excessive frost or ice in the freezer

Please check

  • That the seal/s are intact and sealing correctly.

  • The temperature has been set correctly.

  • That the appliance is not being exposed to high humidity, that it is being operated in a temperature controlled room.

  • The appliance is not being opened and closed too frequently.

  • There is adequate ventilation around the appliance in line with the installation instructions.

  • If the air duct assembly on the inside back panel of the appliance is blocked. (e.g. ice build up).

  • Food is not sitting to close to the rear vents, blocking the airflow

Please

  • Wipe the area of any affected seal with a warm cloth, enabling you to manipulate the seal back into position. Close the door and leave shut overnight if possible.

  • Reset the appliance by disconnecting power to the appliance for approximately 15 minutes, or store contents of appliance in another suitable location and leave for several hours to thaw any blockage. Plug back in and test.

Fridge/Freezer is not functioning

Please check

  • That there is power to the display and/or internal light.

  • That your appliance is plugged in and there is power to the wall socket. Hint: Check the mains power or the isolation switch.

  • The temperature controls are set correctly.

Please

  • Reset the appliance by disconnecting power to the appliance for approximately 15 minutes.

Not cooling/freezing

Please check

  • The temperature has been set correctly.

  • If the air duct assembly on the inside back panel of the appliance is blocked (e.g. ice build up).

  • There is adequate ventilation around the appliance in line with the installation instructions.

  • That the seal/s are intact and sealing correctly.

  • There is power to the unit.

Please

  • Reset the appliance by disconnecting power to the appliance for approximately 15 minutes, or store contents of appliance in another suitable location and leave for several hours to thaw any blockages.

Fridge light is not working

For specific instructions on how to replace your fridge light, please refer to the instruction manual. Typically, this process will require you to remove the light cover by pulling one side of the lamp cover away from the wall, then the other, removing/unscrewing the globe, then replacing the globe and light cover.

Fridge/Freezer is noisy or vibrating

Note: Some fridge/freezer noises are normal, for example when the compressor or defrost cycle is in operation.

Please check

  • Your appliance is level and all legs are touching the floor.

  • There are no foreign items on top of the appliance.

  • There are no objects making contact with the compressor or any pipes at the back of your appliance.

 

Washing Machines

Door Alarm error

The door alarm will sound if the door is opened during operation. Closing the lid should correct this error. If not, please unplug the unit from the power point and check...

  • That the machine is level and all the feet are touching the floor.

  • There is no packaging foam or cardboard under the machine.

  • The drain pump filter at the rear of the unit is clean and clear (refer instruction manual).

The machine is imbalanced

Please

  • Check the laundry is evenly spread around the drum and the drum is not overloaded.

  • Check that the machine is level and all the feet are touching the floor.

  • Check there is no packaging foam or cardboard under the appliance.

  • Reset the appliance by disconnecting power to the appliance for approximately
    15 minutes.

  • In the meantime, clean the drain pump filter (refer to instruction manual) then reinstall and test.

Water inlet error

Please check

  • Water is being supplied to the relevant tap/s.

  • That the hose/s have been connected correctly and the water is turned on. If you have a hot and cold hose, please ensure they are connected to the correct hot and cold taps in your home.

  • That the hose/s are not kinked.

  • The filters inside the hoses and the inlet valve/connection point are clean and not clogged.

 

The machine isn’t draining

Please check

  • The drain hose is positioned below the level of the appliance to allow the water to drain.

  • The drain hose for any blockages, clean and reinstall.

  • Reset the appliance by disconnecting power to the appliance for approximately 15 minutes.

  • In the meantime, clean the drain pump filter (refer to instruction manual). Reinstall and test.

Cleaning the filters

It is recommended to regularly maintain and clean the lint and drain pump filters of your washing machine. Please read your user manual carefully for further instructions or contact our Support Team for assistance.
